Putting on her best "I'm just sayin'" face, Star Jones took to the Today show this week to suggest that Anderson Cooper stated the obvious to boost ratings for his daytime talk show.
As a regular guest for host Natalie Morales' "Today's Professionals" segment, Star was asked what she thought of Anderson Cooper finally shattering the glass closet.
"I've been in daytime television for a long time," Jones said. "He's a daytime talk show host and when the ratings slip in daytime, the hosts tend to tell you lots of things about them. I remember Oprah said she smoked crack. Oprah said she was pregnant at 14 and considered suicide. There were times that you generate information for ratings."
Oh yea. Like the time Star Jones controversially said Anderson Cooper came out just to generate ratings to (say it with us, now!) generate ratings.
Understanding that she may have crossed the line, Star soon added, "Whoa, I'm sorry I said that. But I say bravo! Bravo for him!"
She is so off base and who the hell wants to listen to her anyhow. She lied about weight loss on The View making the other ladies look bad as she conned them. At least Anderson lives in the truth. And it could possibly hurt ratings as some bigots will turn away for the sheer fact he is gay. What the hell does Star know other than the size of her ego. By the way, since she left the View the ratings went up and they won an Emmmy. And why bring Oprah into Anderson's decision.

He doesn't need a boost. His show has been renewed and its on repeats for the summer. I think she is mean spirited and a little jealous of his success. This coupled with how they treated Ann Curry means I'm not watching the Today Show. CBS this morning is good.

Star's comments show her narrow minded view. People have made assumptions for years about Anderson's sexuality. I commend him for finally coming out to everyone! The Today show should can her for her comments there are many more qualified "contributors" out there!

I think she's way off base here. It's clear to me that she wanted to say something negative because she's insecure about herself.
