Clearly Target's trying to send us a message...

And we're receiving it loud and clear.

Check out Target's new ad in support of same-sex wedding registries after the jump!!

Alright, Target, we know we've given you a hard time. Are you pro-gay? Anti-gay? Kinda gay?

In either case, ads like this make us feel warm and fuzzy inside, so we're officially giving you the benefit of the doubt!

The ad says, "we want your money." Their political contributions say, "don't ask us what we do with it."

It's all about the money. Why do you keep bothering with who likes us and who doesn't? The time and dollers could be spent in a much more productive grown up way. Action is a hell of a lot louder than words. Motivate, there is enough hate to go around. Inspire, you have the perfect msdia, do it!!!

Our President "evolved". Maybe Target is, too. And let's face it, Target isn't the only one who wants our money.

it doesn't matter if they are targeting gays or making up for previous anti-gay accusations. good PR for the gay rights movement is good PR period. How many "norms" will see this ad and become more normalized whether cognizant or not... these little things is how societal changes come about.

Can anyone verify the truth to this ad? I have researched it on the net and this webiste is the only link I can find off of FB. I wonder if it is a photoshop dream of someones and not true at all. Although i did find this article from HuffPost re Target and Carlton cards. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/...76356.html

This ad is indeed legit - I can verify because my friends Craig and Shaun are the "models" - in real life a true life partnership.

This is a huge step forward for Target. I'm sorry bloggers, but you really need to get over the fact that the donation happened. For a company to learn from a mistake and take this bold steps forward...I think it's its awesome. For those still pissing and moaning, time to get over it.

change comes by leaps and bounds but you have to take some small steps before you leap!

Pandering to the gay dollar is all well in good. But when it comes to taking a stand against MN's antigay marriage amendment (on the ballot this November), where is Target? Target is officially "neutral". Funny, when Target had the chance to support a radical antigay right wing pol, it proudly donated...but now it is 'neutral'. How supportive of equality is Target? The message I get is "We don't think you should get married (or at least we are remaining 'neutral'), but we will take your dollars should you decide to marry anyway".

@NO2Target- Perhaps you missed it, but Target released a statement to Kare11 back in May:

Target does not believe that a constitutional fight over the issue is good for Minnesota or the state's ability to attract jobs and grow the economy. Consistent with our long-standing support of civic engagement, we are encouraging our team members to exercise their right to vote.

I'm sure that the haters out there will find something to complain about even with that. As a gay team member, I'm extremely happy with everything that Target does to support our community. Is the company perfect? Of course not! But look back over time and you'll find that Target has been involved with the LGBT community before it was the cool thing to do.
