Tennesse's eye-roll inducing "Don't Say Gay" bill is again being shelved after a few months spent capturing headlines. The decision, announced today by Rep. Joey Hensley, R-Hohenwald, effectively means the bill will die at the closing of the state's legislative session.

Hensley said that the Department of Education and the state Board of Education will send a letter to schools in the state asking them to refrain from mentioning anything LGBT related in front of grades kindergarten through eighth. If schools fail to comply with the request, said Hensley, an updated version of "Don't Say Gay" could be born and introduced in a future legislative session.

We'll have to wait and see if school's obey the Dept. of Education directive under the blatant threat of future retribution.
