Richard Hatch using the gay card to explain his incarceration is as ridiculous as criminals using “gay panic” to try to get out of it.
In an interview during this morning’s Today show, Hatch, who is currently finishing his sentence under house arrest, said that he was sentenced to prison because he's gay, as if his trial occurred in Iran or Singapore.
While I won’t disagree that our people are often discriminated against, Hatch has been asked to provide evidence for his claims, and has yet to come up with anything this side of sanity. Prosecutors, however, have reminded him that failing to pay taxes on a million bucks and lying under oath might be the reasons he sat behind bars for so some time, obvioulsy long enough to dehatch from reality a bit, if you will.
