Known for its innovation and progressive tilt, it's no surprise that Google has finally extended healthcare benefits to our transgender community members that often have specific medical needs. Details about the benefits after the jump.

Effective immediately, the employee benefits will cover all medically necessary procedures and services for transgender employees in accordance with the Standards of Care maintained by the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH)! This may include but is not limited to hormone therapy, reconstructive chest and genital surgery, and mental health services.

We have a long ways to go for LGB and especially T people to have full equality, even in the workplace, but it makes a big difference when places like Google leads the way!
