No shock that Fox News has given a bullhorn to a wackadoodle doctor who thinks viewers of Dancing With The Stars will become transgender if they watch Chaz do the quickstep. Follow the jump your daily dose of insanity courtesy of "Dr." Keith Albow (somebody please check his license to practice!) and for Chaz's simple and educated response.
Said Albow on Fox:
There are a lot of kids who will be watching. Look. Kids go through phases. Adolescents. There may be tomboys watching who are girls. They don’t really need to be encouraged to say, “Hey, wait! Wait a second. Maybe I’m not just a tomboy. Maybe I’m a boy!” [...]
Human beings have their behavior kindled. They model their behavior on others. And listen, if we had somebody who couldn’t walk onDancing With The Stars, I’d applaud unless you told me, “Hey, by the way, do you know he cut off his own legs?” Then I’m not applauding! [...]
The emperor has no clothes. Chaz Bono is not a man! Alan, Chaz Bono is not a man!
It's heartbreaking that it had to come to this, but, ultimately, perhaps the hordes of latent transphobics like "Dr." Albow that have awakened since Chaz Bono made Dancing With The Stars headlines will become enlightened from all the defensive press he's having to entertain. Chaz appeared on Good Morning America to let the country know that he's not contagious and that they will not become trans by watching him dance on a reality TV show. Watch the video after the jump.
