Fumbling through deflection in a way that would make her mother proud, Bristol Palin has responded to the recent uproar over her son Tripp's use of an anti-gay slur and her subsequent giggle fit.

Let me be clear. I’m not proud of what he did say. Sadly, he used a different “f word.”
Lifetime filmed over 12 months (on and off) and they caught a moment on film that would cause any parent to be red in the face. Tripp is always surrounded by adults – around the campfires with cousins and their friends, at the shop with my dad and his snowmachine buddies. He’s apparently picked up some language that I’d prefer he not use. On national television or at home.
I do oppose gay marriage, as I’ve written about before (and the HuffPo points out). I guess the temptation to label my three year old son is just too great for the lefty papers to resist. However, one of my new Twitter followers made an excellent point.
Actually, Bristol no one's holding your three-year-old accountable. We're holding YOU accountable, silly!
You're the parent. We can't even blame this on words Tripp's learning in school since he's presumably not enrolled yet.

In this clip from Bristol Palin's reality show, Life's A Tripp, did Tripp actually call his mother a "faggot"?? And worse, is Bristol laughing about it?
Coming from bigots naturally he is being taught by example... Nice job she's doing as a mother huh!

This just shows that Bristol is still VERY immature. She should have corrected her son right then and there and told him that he is NEVER to say that word to ANYONE again. But, no!! She has to show herself as the bigot that she is and laugh. What a bitch!

He learned it from the people around him. The Palins were trying to get a message across with this segment. The two females tell the kid to stop saying "I hate you" then when he says "Go away you f*ggots" they say nothing.

Bristol has used trashing gay people to gain publicity before. Her show is in the ratings gutter so she pulls this stunt to try to appeal to anti-gay bigots.
