ABC News (and other news outlets) are highlighting Allan Fonseca, the young Lancome counter worker who risked his life to get numerous shoppers to safey during yesterday's shooting at Clackamas Town Center in Portland, Oregon.
Fonseca is presumably "family" (if we had to guess) so we take a little extra pride in his heroism!
Watch Fonseca and the first woman he saved, Jocelyn Lay, speak to ABC News after the jump!
ABC News Interviews Shooting Hero, Allan Fonseca
Lay explains, “He (Fonseca) said that we needed to evacuate and he took me by the hand and took me down the escalator and out to safety.”
Fonseca then returned to Macy's and helped usher other customers away from the shooter. 22-year-old Jacob Tyler Roberts killed three people with a stolen semi-automatic weapon.
Asked why he risked his own safety, Fonseca said:
“I felt that if I knew how to get out of the mall and out to safety then I should share that knowledge with everyone else. So I decided to go back up because I wanted to see if there was anybody in panic or didn’t know where to do.”
Can someone get this guy a cape? He's our new favorite superhero!
