Shane Bitney Crone, creator of the viral video we shared last week that successfully depleted the tear supply of an entire planet, spoke with CNN's Suzanne Malveaux today about "It Could Happen To You."

(Original Post)

Holy bejeebus.

We thought the first morsels of solid food we've stuck down our throats since Friday happy hour were the only things we'd be choking on today. Nope! Thanks to a commemorative video about boyfriends split apart by death and the resulting dehumanizing legal storm the surviving partner was forced to endure we've also choked back the tears. Thankfully they are calorie free!

Grab the tissue, get the mascara ready to reapply and follow the jump for a very worthy Video of the Day.

I soooo believe in your message. I just want you to know that there is another person that understands what you're going through everyday, even though I have not lost a loved one as you. Hang in there Shane...I hope you get to see this message.

My heart goes out to you, Shane. Thank you for being brave enough to share this with the world. Not let's make sure it's not for nothing.

Shane, if you are actually reading this I don't believe any one of us can understand the heart ache that you have gone through and are continuing to go through.... No one should have go through this. It's tragic that Tom's family didn't love him for being himself. I hope one day that we can all be treated as equals. It doesn't seem fair and it's not! It will happen... maybe not in our life time, but in our children's life time. That day I look forward to.

Shane, we shall overcome. United we stand. It will take time to change hearts and minds but it will be done.

Having lost my beloved husband is the hardest thing I have ever gone through & am living w/to this day, but to have to endure your pain of his family not supporting your love for one another & to tell you that you were not welcome @ his funeral is SO disheartening to me!! I am sooooo sorry Shane that there are such heartless people left in this world. Sad but true... My heart goes out to you & my prayers are w/you. I know that it's only been a year & your heart will never be the same but I can tell you this, you will get through all of this & prayerfully your message will be heard & many hearts will be opened/unlocked to this horrific prejudice/ignorance. God Bless You today, tomorrow & always...

Shane, my heart goes out to you and all the people that loved Tom and accepted him for who he was. I 100% believe in your message and it's time to really fight united and through our institutions of laws and government, that's the only way we will make change. I who was bullied all my life in the school system and was not only not protected by school administrators I was blamed for the bullying understand the life time effects this has on someone. Thanks you for being so brave to share this and make an impact on others. If you are reading this best to you and hope to hear more about your cause in the future.
