We’ve heard more Whitney songs in our favorite video bars in the last month than we’ve heard in the last few couple decades combined (and that’s including The Bodyguard aftermath!) Now with rising numbers on the Billboard charts, Whitney proves that while she may no longer be with us, her music doesn’t plan on going anywhere fast. Keep reading, otherwise, how will she know – if you really love her?
Ms. Houston might be off to higher ground but she is no less a diva than she's always been as she becomes the first woman to have 3 albums in the Billboard 200 Chart’s top 10 at the same time.
Whitney: the Greatest Hits leads the pack at No. 2 with 174,000 in sales, The Bodyguard soundtrack is now 6 with 47,000, and Whitney Houston jumps up to 9 with 30,000.
Just so we are all aware the diva didn’t end there, you can also hear this queen of the night singing her success at No. 16, I Look to You, No. 30 with My Love Is Your Love, No. 39 with I'm Your Baby Tonight, No. 105 with The Preacher's Wife, No. 126 with Just Whitney, No. 133 with Whitney, and No. 73 with a three-CD bundle of Baby, My Love and Just Whitney. This gives Houston a grand total 10 albums in top 200.
The No. 1 spot? Who else but Adele. If Whitney couldn’t take the crown, at least she’s runner-up to someone who has the vocal chops she once had…most of the time.
