Girl, it has been too long! How are you going to make The Bodyguard and Waiting To Exhale and then make Cinderella and leave us with that for 14 years?! Find out which movie the American legend and American Idol are making together after the jump.
We weren't even a tickle in our papi's sack when the original Sparkle came out in 1976. However, we know our diva history, and this tale, loosely based on the Supremes, is getting a reincarnaton! Ms. Whitney Houston is in negotiations to star in music-themed drama, while American Idol winner Jordin Sparks and actor Mike Epps also are set to star.
The original Sparkle is centered on the three Williams sisters who begin singing in their church choir in Harlem in the late 1950s and become a successful girl group. Sparks will play, get this, Sparkle! the talented member of the group, and Houston will play her unsupportive mother. Epps will be Satin, a stand-up comedian who marries one of the sisters and gets her hooked on drugs. Dreamgirls, anyone?
Okay, so Houston's grand comeback was underwhelming, but she also had decent (hey, we love her, quuens!) acting chops so this could be an excellent move for her. Thoughts?
