As painful as this is for us to even think about (20 days and 15 shows left 'til The Oprah Winfrey Show is DONE! Nooo!!), we must compose ourselves and write for readers like you. Everyone wants to know what will happen and who will be the guest(s) on Oprah’s finale, airing May 25th. Find out after the jump which megastar just might cake the take, hehe, and eat it too.
Popeater suggests that Oprah insiders are asking important questions like, "How can one celebrity possibly sum up 25 years of such a groundbreaking show?" And, "Who could possibly come on the show and represent everything Oprah has done?"
Maya Angelou?
Nelson Mandela?
Jesus?
She's done it all, the source says, and "only one person could do that, and that is Oprah herself."
Yay! This seems perfect! Having anyone else on the show does seem in bad taste, like someone helping you blow out your candles on your birthday, or your best friend going underwear shopping with your boyfriend.
Also worth noting is that Oprah has spoken before of her love of the final episode of The Mary Tyler Moore Show, where Mary turned out the lights and left. Ooo, we feel the goosebumps already.
"Her last show will look back at some of her most important and favorite moments from her show," a source told Popeater. "But at the end of the day, the show will end where it started. A woman with a microphone looking into a camera and trying to make the world a better place."
Does that sound like your perfect ending? Understated, with Oprah connecting with her audience one last time? Or with a big celebration? How do you want to see the show end?
Regardless, we will be asking for the afternoon off, grabbing a black veil, tissues and bottle of Belvedere.
