Pride season is upon us and CNN wants to help you plan your trip by selecting the best places to celebrate this year. The cities on the cable news network's short list span the globe, but the question is do you agree with their picks? See what they are after the jump!
The guide featured on CNN.com, compiled by journalist Jessica DuLong, names five cities to visit and three of them are in the United States. If you're thinking it's New York or San Francisco, you're wrong! They say "instead of the biggies such as San Francisco or New York City, which might be overwhelming, consider choosing a nice, manageable Pride in an interesting location.
Boston - June 1-10
Tel Aviv, Israel - June 3-8
Amsterdam, Netherlands - July 28-August 5
Ashville, North Carolina - October 6
Atlanta - October 13-14
The most interesting to us was Ashville, North Carolina. The article says that Ashville has been dubbed one of the "gayest cities in America" and one of the "top five surprisingly gay small towns." It also notes that their annual pride festival draws between 8,000 and 12,000 people from throughout the Southeast US.
