What do you get when you add a drag queen dressed like a Matisse painting, a fog machine, a soundtrack from the San Francisco Symphony, and a nine foot long albino snake with one big cable car? Well, our math has always been fuzzy (Prada, not algebra, is our strong suit), but we think the answer is a campy traveling promotion for the Bay Area that's touring Southern California this weekend!
From a press release:
The initiative “49 Hours of SF Arts & Culture” will distribute Bay Area themed prizes to the first five people to greet the cable car at each of its stops. Locations and prize passwords will be updated by @onlyinSF on Twitter; a tentative schedule is below.
Prizes for the first guests to step onto the car at each location include:
Stays at the Hotel Triton, Radisson Fisherman’s Wharf and others. Gift bags from the San Francisco Symphony and SFMOMA; tickets to the California Academy of Sciences, the musical revue “Beach Blanket Babylon,” and the Walt Disney Family Museum. “Cruisin’ the Castro” walking tours. Rides on the high-speed RocketBoat. Passes to the Wax Museum at Fisherman’s Wharf. Drinks at the Tonga Room inside the Fairmont Hotel. CityPASS booklets of admissions to attractions such as the Exploratorium and Aquarium of the Bay.Muni Passport to ride the famous cable cars.
However, all guests who visit the cable car can enter two win a trip for two to San Francisco!
Be sure to follow @onlyinSF on Twitter to stay up to the minute on the cable car's SoCal whereabouts (which travels the area through Sunday, July 10).
