Do you ever wonder how hotels select what cities to open their next property in? The Gay-Resort Lords South Beach in Miami has come up with an innovative idea: take over another hotel.. but just for one weekend. Find out more after the jump!
Though it's a really a short-term take over, they're calling it a "pop-up" hotel. The Hotel on Rivington in New York is changing their name and their staff from June 18th through the 24th for New York's Pride Week.
The "new" hotel, Lords New York, features an inflatable polar bear in the lobby which pays hommage to the fiberglass version located in Miami and also features the Lords South Beach staff.
Lords' Staff members will be working the lobby, check-in, special events and various parties for Pride week in the penthouse.
Brian Gorman, the Lords' hotel founder, told the New York Times “It’s about creating an experience." It's also about finding out if their brand will work in New York along side TheOUT NYC.
