Obviously the news isn't that our favorite Karen Walker nemesis from Will & Grace, Leslie Jordan, is coming out -- however, he is headlining Houston's 2012 Coming Out Day Party! Get the not so small details after the jump!
Now in its sixth year, the Coming Out Party raises money for LGBT nonprofits in Houston. This year’s event will be held the evening of October 13 on the grounds of Sycamore Heights Bed & Breakfast in the historic Heights. Leslie Jordan will perform part of his one-man show. The event will also feature entertainment from performer Tye Blue and Houston’s top drag queens as well as a silent auction, open bar and more.
Aside from Will & Grace Leslie Jordan is best known for his appearances on Boston Legal, as well as his starring role in the cable series Sordid Lives. He’s also appeared in major films such asThe Help and in his one-man-show, My Life Down the Pink Carpet.
OutReach United organizes the Coming Out Party, which raised $33,000 in 2011 for nonprofits including Montrose Counseling Center and the Pride Houston Scholarship Fund. Each year the party gets bigger, drawing more out of town guests as well as local participants.
"We're excited to be able to bring the Coming Out Party to the Houston community again this year," says Gary Wood, president of OutReach United. "And with an entertainment lineup headlined by Leslie Jordan, the 2012 party promises to be the biggest and best event our organization has ever held."
