File this away in the "things we probably already knew" section, but the British website Gaydar in conjunction with Ipsos Mori (a UK based market research firm) polled over 2,000 gay men and found that we take more vacations (sorry, "holidays") than the average person. What are the top destinations? And, how many vacations does the average person take? Find out after the jump!

The British gay community is taking advantage of the world's economic downfall and traveling more than ever with the average gay taking four holidays a year, compared to the average Brit who will take two.

The research and results

Ipsos Mori polled 2,174 gay men and found that British travelers are opting for more classic cities over beach destinations.

The top five holiday destinations for British gay men have been revealed as:

1.      San Francisco
2.      Amsterdam
3.      Gran Canaria
4.      New York
5.      Barcelona

You can check out their post about the poll here, but we're wondering, how many vacations do you take per year and where do you travel to?
