SOAPBOX: The Hardest-Working Heiress In Showbiz Sings
Gay guys are hot. I’ve really, really fallen for several! One thing like that just happened. Roberto Cavalli threw me a huge party for my record, and there were four of the hottest guys I’ve ever seen in my life. I was like, “Oh, my God, get them in here, now!” They came in, and I was so excited, and then they were like, [highpitched voice] “Omigod, we LOVE you, girl!” I was like, “Hmm…”
Whatever. We danced and had fun, and they were really hot and I still wanted them. It’s funny though. Whenever I go out to clubs in New York or wherever, I’m like, “Wow, he’s so sexy!” and my friends are like, “Oh, he’s gay.”
I threw a lesbian wedding on The Simple Life this season and made them lick frosting off each other at the end. That was hot. It was a lot of fun, and they were such a cool couple, and I could tell they were so in love. It was special to be a part of something like that.
In fact, the ratings for this season were, like, four times the amount of ratings they’ve ever gotten for any show on E!, so they’ve already ordered The Simple Life 5. For the next season, I told them I’m not leaving L.A. I’m too busy with my work and my record. I love The Simple Life, but I’m more focused on the record rather than this reality show that’s more for fun.
For the first episode this season, we filmed a face-off scene with me and Nicole at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. I was dying. It was the most uncomfortable day of my life. It made me really sad—I’ve known someone for 20 years and now, like, we don’t even speak? I don’t even get it. Whatever. We’ll see what happens one day. When you’ve known someone that long, you can’t fight forever. I don’t even pay attention to it anymore. I want friends who are happy for me.
Whatever. I’m really excited about my album. There’s a sample of the song “Grease” in “I Want You,” which I did with the guy who did “SOS.” It’s cool, too, that all my songs have been remixed. “Turn It Up” (my next single) and “Stars Are Blind” have been remixed by people like Paul Oakenfold, Tracy Young and Luney Tunes. There are like nine remixes just of “Stars Are Blind.” The Tracy Young ones are especially hot, and I think they’re going to be amazing in the gay clubs.
For the first video for “Stars Are Blind,” we had to rush to put it together, because the song was leaked. When we had more time, we went and shot a second video, which was more fun to make. It had more of a storyline. I wanted the audience to see how the guy in the video and I met.
“Jealousy” was the second song I wrote. I was working with Scott Storch and it was, like, a sad beat and I was just, like, in a sad mood and I felt like I wanted to write a song about something I’ve experienced. I think it’s important in a record for people to hear something about me. Any girl—or any guy—can relate to someone’s jealousy.
Right now I’m focused on music, but after that, I’m getting into real estate. I’m going to develop my own hotels, nightclubs and restaurants. My schedule is really, really crazy. I’m traveling around the world at all times, getting up at 5 in the morning and working until 10 at night. It’s a lot of work, but I’m having a good time. When people say I don’t work, they don’t know what they’re talking about. I work harder than most people I know!
In the beginning, when I was first starting to be photographed, I was a lot younger and I was like, “Oh wow, this is neat.” Now it’s getting old and it happens too much. It’s part of the work, though.
Whatever. I don’t know why you gay guys are so hot, but you are. I hope you like dancing around in your underwear to my music…I certainly do.
See you on the dance floor, sexy bitches!
