Chicago Gay Hockey Association Gets Us In The Holiday Spirit With Mariah Carey Cover
Figure skating what? Johnny Weir who? It's all about the Chicago Gay Hockey Association (CGHA) and their super-cute cover of Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas."
As recently shared on accidentalbear.com, the CGHA (a registered 501c-3) is doing a great thing for the LGBT community by providing a fun and unique space for those who want to feel good and do good:
“Our mission is to provide a non-discriminatory environment within the hockey community. We encourage all people with a passion for ice hockey — novice or pro, male or female, straight or gay — to contact us and learn to skate, play on our team, volunteer for social events, come to the games, and join our organization.”
And the team continued on to introduce the video on their website with this very important reminder:
"The players of the CGHA have a very special holiday message for you! We want you to put aside your differences. —– And to spend some time getting closer to your family and friends. —– If you take a step back and look, you may surprise yourself with how much you have in common with people. The person next to you on the train could become your best friend. After all, aren't we all just looking for love? Don't forget to laugh a little. And sing a little. And remember to have fun! Happy Holidays y'all!"
Watch, smile and get in the holiday spirit:
Seriously though, we love this! No matter how off-key or off-tempo they may be at times, this lively bunch really know how to have a good time and spread the holiday cheer.
Perhaps it's time to take up a new sport, Instincters?
