Kevin Hart On Why He No Longer Performs Gay Jokes
During a recent interview actor/comedian Kevin Hart told a reporter that he has placed a moratorium on gay jokes at his stand-up performances. But it wasn't until his Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA) that we learned why.
During the AMA, Kevin was asked by a fan, "You find a lot of comedy in male insecurities, including a famous bit where you express fear that your son will be gay. You praised Frank Ocean at the MTV VMAs in 2012 for having the courage to come out, and recently said in an interview that you don't do jokes any more about gays. What changed your mind on this subject of humor?"
"It's just a sensitive topic and I respect people of all orientations," Kevin replied. "So, it's just best left alone."
Should more comedians follow Kevin's lead or should audiences check PC sensibilities at the door of Comedy Clubs?
