Video: Aspiring Actor Pays For Ryan Gosling Lookalike Surgery

Are you getting your Gosling on? Look, we're not ones to judge a little healthy "maintenance" when it comes to one's looks. A little lunchtime Botox with a martini can go a long way.

But we always give a little side-eye when hear about someone modifying their appearance to look like someone else. 32-year-old aspiring actor Nicholas Ryan spoke with The Daily Mail about his $5000 worth of cosmetic procedures he underwent in order to look more like Ryan Gosling.

Deem for yourself whether he was successful.

Nicholas explains tells The Daily Mail:

"I wanted was more definition in my jaw bone, like Ryan Gosling," says the actor, who lives in Los Angeles and chose Ryan as a stage name.

"I'm going for roles that demand a more rugged look in a man's face. My favorite Ryan Gosling movie is Gangster Squad, a role that suits that type of heroic face."

He adds that "women love Ryan Gosling," who he rates as a 'great actor.

"He's got a look that a lot of people in America are looking for right now, especially in my line of work," Nicholas says. "I'm hoping I'll get more auditions and roles if I look more like Ryan Gosling. That's why I had the surgery."

Here's the thing, we think the work's good (not commenting on whether it was necessary, but it all looks really natural). Is it Gosling? Well no one's Gosling, but thankfully this doesn't look like a failed science project.

That being said, perhaps it's best to aim to look like (and be) the best version of yourself rather than attempting to look like someone else. And especially in Hollywood, where what's "hot" can change on a dime, why spend beaucoup bucks trying to look like someone else, when you could be the next big thing that everyone's aspiring to emulate?

What do you think of Nicholas's Gosling-transformation, Instincters?

I am confused...he looks better, (well rested and less like he is "wasting"), but he looks nothing like Gosling.  Which, I guess is a good thing, but wow, he looks nothing remotely like Gosling.  Am I missing something?

Not like Ryan Gosling, but still he does look much better.

He doesn't look anything like him....why would you alter yourself to look like a celebrity? LOL

The world already has a Ryan Gosling.  Be yourself!
