Was Britney Spears Airbrushed To Look Skinnier In The "Work Bitch" Music Video?

It's no secret that visual media is touched up through the magic of Photoshop, but the taboo when it comes to video hasn't quite been crossed yet. Britney Spears' music video for "Work Bitch" is the latest in a string of high-profile videos from female pop-stars to be accused of digital "cosmetic enhancing." In this case, according to "before" photos unwittingly released by the digital effects house HOAX, which was hired to spruce up the video, Britney's body was slimmed down quite a bit in post-production.

The pics (which have since been deleted) appeared in Sound and Picture's profile on Hoax's work on the video. Because this is the Internet, the pictures have managed to live on despite being scrubbed.

What do you think, Instincters? Do you think Britney's body was touched up by digital artists for the "Work Bitch" video? Keep in mind this isn't the first time the pop star has courted this kind of controversy: the "Piece of Me" music video was blasted by critics after an "unedited" version was leaked displaying a thicker Brit Brit than the one found in the official release.

Don't be jealous! Ofcourse she wasn"t AIRBRUSHED! Check out her live concert! She is really skinny there as well!

I have worked in post production for close to 2 decades on commercials & music videos etc. including working on some Britney videos.  This kind of enhancement is extremely common, if not standard.  Artists & performers hire directors to make them "look good" in their promos & the entire process is a collaboration between the Director, the record label, the agents & the management company.  Often times, the performer themselves has little influence on the final product/promo.  This kind of enhancement is not exclusive to female performers & it happens with younger performers as well as older performers.

Hundreds of hours are spent by teams of computer graphics artists to "improve" people's appearance.  Sometimes frame by frame.  This happens in TV & movies too a lot of the time.  Wrinkles & skin imperfections are erased, tattoos are removed, fat is cut off, abs are drawn in, legs are lengthened, boobs are lifted etc. etc.  Chances are, if it's on TV, it's been "touched up".  Most of these people look better than the rest of us anyway, but they are all "improved" for TV & film.  Britney may not even be aware that some of this work was done.  On the other hand, she may have seen a rough cut & said "Damn! my ass is huge & I look old.. fix it!"

It's Hollywood.  Nothing is as it seems.  Even Cher.

well said! xx
