Chris Barron Resigns From GOProud Over CPAC Attendance

Homocon group GOProud has lost one of its most vocal public faces. Chris Barron, co-founder of the conservative group, has announced his resignation over GOProud's decision to accept an invitation to CPAC.

“Last night I resigned from the Board of GOProud, the organization that I co-founded back in April of 2009," Barron told BuzzFeed. "I cannot in good conscience sit by and watch as the current leadership of the organization disingenuously pawns off an unconditional surrender to the forces of bigotry as some sort of ‘compromise. Nothing has changed in regards to GOProud and CPAC, GOProud does not have a booth, they are not a sponsor, they are not participating in any formal sense–individual members can attend and that’s exactly the terms ACU dictated the previous few years.”

GOProud was notoriously banned from CPAC for the past several years, leading the group to celebrate its long awaited inclusion at the 2014 incarnation of the heavily anti-gay event.

I understand everyone wants to be a part of political parties for specific reasons and platforms, but if you're gay and fiscally and socially conservative in certain areas why not just join the Libertarian party? Or even better, abandon the political party system altogether? All political parties are corrupt in essence and are full of cronies. And if the Libertarian party gets big enough it too will become tainted with big business and the same double standards as the two big parties currently in power. If you can't tell, I'm one of those who wept when I found out how the electoral college works, lol.
