Billboard Calls Out Lady Gaga's Request To Fans To Move "Applause" Up On The Charts

Billboard's Bill Werde spent the night receiving death threats from Little Monsters around the world after calling out Lady Gaga's brief attempt to game the charts to get "Applause" to rise from its current free fall.

Though it was quickly deleted, Mother Monster had sent a tweet to her 10s of millions followers late Tuesday night that featured a link allowing the user to view "Applause" 150 times in a row on YouTube. The tactic, called "playlisting," is shunned by Billboard, and Werde wasn't having any of it.

"An artist tweeting out and facebooking a link that enables a fan to hit play and leave their computer is not in the spirit of what we chart," Werde wrote at the start of what became a very long night for Billboard's editorial director.

She does seem desperate this time--not a great song let's face it.  Even some of her fans have tweeted disappointment.  How old are these Little Monsters who are spewing hatred--preteens?

Even Chelsea Handler on her show said she is "so over Gaga".  Gaga has a great voice--cut out the shenanigans and the nudity and just sing.

Wow, desperate much! The song sucks, Gaga. Move on and pick another.
