"Don't Sleep With The Sultan" Ad Appears In 'Variety'

Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei owns two hotels in the U.S., the Hotel Bel-Air and the Beverly Hills Hotel. He also has recently instituted some of the world's harshest anti-gay laws in his home country that could soon see the stoning of LGBT people. A few weeks ago, organizers of the annual Night Before event, long one of the highlights of the Academy Awards event schedule, pulled their 2015 edition from the Beverly Hills Hotel to end support of the Sultan of Brunei's homophobic regime. Today, an ad appearing in Variety reminded L.A. insiders to follow the Night Before's example.

The ad, paid for with help from a coalition of LGBT and international woman's organizations, underscores a protest held two weeks ago by the Gay & Lesbian Center's Lorri Jean. Is Hollywood finally getting the message?

So sad how people don't see all the facts. The boycott hurts the 85% of us that is part of the LGBT community. The managing group has always been and will always be for Equality and has been supporting us. I have been here for over 8years and since day one they have always given my partner my benefits. I get that we will always be against Sharia law but this matter should be taken to DC not the hotel. What about the other hotels that the Saudi owns and also Hollywood just filmed in Dubai leaving money there so why hurt the us citizens??? Food for thought as your hurting the people you are trying to protect..
