B. Scott Banned From Wearing High Heels While Hosting BET Awards Red Carpet Pre-Show

Updated Wednesday 1 p.m. est

It's been a whirlwind of a week in the B. Scott/BET feud, with the latest match set point coming from B. himself in response to Tuesday's apology from BET.

Writes B. Scott:

“I want a real apology from BET. This was a not a mutual misunderstanding or miscommunication. I pride myself on being very professional," the fashionista said on Tuesday while calling the apology "half hearted."

Can't say we don't agree!

(Tuesday)

BET has released an apologetic statement after claims of not allowing fashion maven B. Scott to dress in heels during a red carpet broadcast have ricocheted around the Internet.

In a statement released to EW, reps for BET write:

BET Networks embraces global diversity in all its forms and seeks to maintain an inclusive workforce and a culture that values all perspectives and backgrounds. The incident with B. Scott was a singular one with a series of unfortunate miscommunications from both parties. We regret any unintentional offense to B. Scott and anyone within the LGBT community and we seek to continue embracing all gender expressions.

Apology accepted? Chime in with a comment below as we wait to hear what B. Scott thinks about the statement!

B. Scott has released a detailed account of what went down behind the scenes of the BET Awards pre-show. Here's a snippet (read in full here):

After rushing to make it to the red carpet in time, I was escorted by several members of production down to the stage. Everybody I spoke with commented on how fabulous I looked. There was never any indication that there was an issue. There was no pushback. I was simply there to do my job.

After interviewing AJ Calloway for my first segment I was literally yanked backstage and told that my look from head to toe “wasn’t acceptable.”

They asked me to pull my hair back, they asked me to change my attire.

Let’s be clear, I wasn’t wearing a ball gown and stiletto heels. I was wearing long pants, and a long shirt.

I was returned to my trailer and forced to change into one of the other outfits while other producers waited outside. I changed quickly and returned to set, only to be told that I had been replaced by Adrienne Bailon and wouldn’t be going on at all.

I was hurt. I am hurt.

"It’s not just about the fact that BET forced me to pull my hair back, asked me to take off my makeup, made me changed my clothes and prevented me from wearing a heel," B. continued. "It’s more so that from the mentality and environment created by BET made me feel less than and that something was wrong with who I am as a person."

If you thought popular personality B. Scott looked a little different while hosting the red carpet pre-show ahead of the BET Awards this year, don't worry about adjusting your television; according to the media maven, BET banned B. from wearing high heels moments before the cameras started rolling for the pre-show.

B. Scott explained the situation after a Twitter fan asked why the high heels were absent during the broadcast:

Only God knows why I went through today and its going to stay that way.

Complete outfit change at the last minute.

I wasn’t going to say anything but my spirit is truly hurt,

I’m sorry if I let anybody down today, I tried my best and it wasn’t enough.

My TRUE saving grace was the Procter & Gamble consultant, who said: “We at P&G do not support what they are doing to you.”

B. Scott's Twitter fans were outraged by the story, and took to the social network to show their support:

We've reached out to both B. Scott and BET for more on the story and will report back accordingly, so stay tuned to Instinct!

cheap rc planes and reliable performance you? I feel pretty good

funny how can they do that , high heels make you look much better

I am  sooooooooo disturbed at the fact that you could ask some one such as B.Scott to appear then take away their pride in such manner like he was the most offensive thing that this horrible network has seen!!!! i am never watching again. This is just not right.

I've been furious since first finding out of such intolerant behavior. I cannot fathom supporting a network that blatantly disrespected B.Scott, and his thousands of love muffins. We are ALL insulted! B.Scott is a pioneer and has always taken leaps ahead of his time to stay true to self and helps others in their own journey of self-discovery. He is a role model to many, not just the LGBT community. I hope that BET can makes a mends with him. They tested his strength but his spirit will always remain to outshine any and all small mindness. We love you B!

Bet new who B.Scott was when they asked him to come...don't try to change him when he gets there...they know better..;(
