The power of our (fabulous) murses and (another cliche saying) the gAyTM shouldn't be taken lightly. Couple Luke Montgomery and Nate Guidas believe our pink dollars can work wonders in still-ravaged Haiti, and have launched CauseCommandos.com (love that name!) to help funnel gay funds to survivors of the great earthquake.
From a press release:
When disaster struck the impoverished island nation of Haiti, it also struck close to the hearts of boyfriends Luke Montgomery and Nate Gudias. Having lived in Haiti and founded an AIDS orphanage in the coastal town of Jacmel, Montgomery feared the worst when no word was received from the orphanage. Within 48 hours the couple raised over $10,000 from family and friends in the gay community... FULL STORY

Tags: san francisco, school, education, glbt, lgbt, students, programs, support, california It might be facing layoffs and detrimental program cuts, but the San Francisco School Board has voted to install a new high-priced program on top of its $113 million (over the next few years) deficit. The prize, you ask? A support system for the city's large GLBT student population.
The new program seeks to remedy a startling number: 43% of the students GLBT middle-school students skip classes because they feel unsafe at school, compared to 11% of their straight classmates.
Language for the new support system requires the program to find funds to cover the $120,000 per year program from outside the school system, but, when in place, will provide at least part-time support staff on campuses.

Tags: marriage equality, new york, florida, kitty lambert, protests, brian feldman, orlando, buffalo, same-sex, gay, lesbian As GLBT couples across the world prepare for the annual Valentine's weekend protests, a few notable and symbolic protests enacted by individuals have gained headlines a few days early.
Florida
In Orlando, performance artist and activist Brian Feldman's campaign to highlight marriage inequality in the state came to culmination when he married a complete stranger.
New York
When Buffalo resident Kitty Lambert (don't you love that name?!) was denied a marriage license to her partner Cheryl, Kitty protested the discrimination by marrying a complete stranger named Ed.
From Pink BFLO:
Kitty’s point in approaching the City Clerk for a marriage license is that there is no religious basis for marriage, and it serves only as a legally... FULL STORY

Tags: games, video, satire, snuggies, religion, video, humor, wtf, videos The holiday weekend is nearly here (we can taste it beneath our still-lingering apple-martini breath fresh from drag queen bingo last night), so slacking off at work in anticipation is surely made more fun with a novel guessing game.
Sparked by two new products, we've decided to let you, ravishing readers, participate in what we like to call "Are They Serious?" Don't worry, your sole job is to let us know whether or not the two commercials below are advertising real products or are merely delicious satire. If you win, you may choose a lovely gift from the gallery or you can pick what's in our box (puns intended).

Director Gary Marshall has confirmed an attempt to bring the sitcom that launched his career, Laverne and Shirley, to the big screen.
While Marshall's sister Penny and friend Cindy Williams aren't exactly ready to reprise their roles three decades later (though they might show up for a cameo), two stars of the director's new film Valentine's Day are said to be taking over: Jennifer Garner and Jessica Biel.
When asked about excitement surrounding confirmation of the project, Garner replied, "Are you kidding? We're dying to do it!"
...or is this just PR work to garner more attention for the cleverly-named Valentine's Day?

Tags: glee, fox, molly shannon, jane lynch, kristin chenoweth, idina menzel, jonathan groff Feels like forever since we had a Glee post. Thank God Entertainment Weekly can tip us off on this genius casting choice.
Aside from Kristin Chenoweth, Idina Menzel and Jonathan Groff all popping up on our favorite show this spring, the casting directors at Glee have just added another perfect choice to their roster: Molly Shannon!
The SNL alum will reportedly play opposite Jane Lynch as a pill-popping, boozy astronomy teacher and badminton coach. Loves!! It's almost enough to make us forgive and forget Kath & Kim. Molly's role as Sue's nemesis gets underway in May.

Tags: bollywood, airport body scans, humor, actors, shahrukh khan, naked, hotties What young boy, gay or straight, never wished the x-ray specs promised in the back of comic books were the real deal? What grown man, gay or straight, couldn't answer with 100% conviction that the idea of working for the TSA behind the new body-scanning technology provides a bit of a thrill?
Not even a few months into the new tech and the ethical angle has already been put to the test in London, where famed (and gorgeous) Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan's bits and peices were recently printed and passed around by a group of giddy airport employees.
Khan noticed the excitment, and handled it like a man.
"I was in London recently going through the airport and these new machines have come up, the body scans. You’ve got to see them. It makes... FULL STORY
