Is Anthony Starble's "Oh Father" The "Same Love" Of 2014?

Macklemore proved in 2013 that great songs with a pro-gay social message can go the distance in the industry. With boundaries broken and a mainstream audience established for this kind of material, can rising artist Anthony Starble's gorgeous and raw lyrical ballad achieve similar success?

Within a week of releasing the music video for "Oh Father" (which details Anthony's experience of coming out to his dad), the clip has already received more than 30,000 views and counting.

Click play below and let us know if you think "Oh Father" has what it takes to make a dent in 2014.

I don't think so.

Really? A comparison of this overly auto-tuned, repetitive song to Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' Same Love? Definitely not the "Same Love" of 2014. "...details Anthony's experience of coming out to his dad," really? In the song, he could be singing about anything. If the video didn't show him kissing another male, it could be about changing religions or something. I do think that his other videos on YouTube sound better than this one. Maybe a live version?

Wow....very touching
