Beautiful Photo Of Black Gay Dads, Kordale & Kaleb, Sparks Twitter Uproar

Our nonexistent ovaries did a bit of a flip when we saw this beautiful photo of Kordale and Kaleb, a gay couple going about their morning routine with their daughters!

They write on Instagram:

Being fathers is getting our daughters up at 5:30 am making breakfast getting them dressed for school and putting them on the bus by 6:30 .This is a typical day in our household . It's not easy but we enjoy every moment and eveny minute of #fatherhood .#proudfathers #blackfathers #prouddads #gaydads

Sadly, it was only after seeing the image that we read this piece from Mused Mag that revealed the firestorm that was set off by the image of two (GORGEOUS) gay black men raising a family. Beyond Steven writes:

From my view, this is a beautiful image of two strong fathers taking care of their children; however, Black Twitter didn’t see it that way.

I’m not going to list peoples’ comments or anything of the like because ignorance doesn’t belong on MUSED. It wasn’t the negative comments that surprised me, but the positive ones: “Finally a black gay couple.”

So it appears the Twitter commentary varies from the predictable homophobia that you might expect to shock over seeing a healthy and loving black gay couple raising a family.

By the way, they've got three kids: Desmiray, Maliyah, and Kordale Jr. and they all look pretty damn happy!

What's the problem?!

Haters gonna hate. Head over to Instagram for more photos of Kordale and Kaleb and their beautiful family!

Are you surprised the reaction within the Twitterverse, Instincters?

anyone who writes anything negative about this unit is only afraid they will never be as good parents as these guys clearly are.......

A beautiful family. Two young, black, successful gay men with three beautiful kids.  A family to admire...to look up to. But when I read further (see below) I was taken aback.....

Kaleb: We live in a five-bedroom home. We have three beautiful children. There’s a room for Kordale. There’s a room for Kaleb and there’s a room for each individual child. The oldest child says, “Kaleb, you’re my daddy’s best, best, best best friend in the whole wide world.” I say that meaning the kids do not know that we are in a relationship. We don’t portray that image in front of the kids because we don’t want to put them in the mindset of being gay and that’s what you’re going to be because we are gay.

We want them to make their own decisions with whomever it is they choose to be with, no judgment. If our daughters decided that they want to be gay when they get older, my blessings. If they want to be straight, my blessings, and the same thing with our son. We’re not pushing them to be just like us. Truthfully, let them tell it they all have boyfriends and girlfriends. It’s so cute to hear them talk about it.

my comment -Seriously?!? You tell the girls you're BFF's?  That if they "want" to be gay they have your blessing, if they "want" to be straight they have your blessing? You're a wonderful couple raising your kids. Don't hide who you are. Isn't  it all about teaching your kids acceptance, pride in who you are? By portraying yourselves as something other than what you are you are teaching your girls that there's something wrong...something to hide, to be ashamed of? Be who you are! You are who you are....The girls are who they are. You can't "want" to be straight or gay...you are who you are. I'm obviously not living your life, but reading your story makes me sad. Sad for you because you are unable to be real in front of your girls, and sorry for your girls because they are growing up with 2 loving parents...who are not just BFF's........Seriously?

I couldn't agree with you more their family is beautiful but ultimately they're doing their children disservice by telling them that all they are is just best friends

I think that u have a beautiful family.

Live Love LGBT can't wait to have that with my Wife....

I think ur family is so beautiful,I can't wait into I hve that with my Wife.

Let them hate....I'm a black man married to a white man living in "lily white" Boise, Idaho and we have count them five(5) black children. We live in total isolation when it comes to being out about the fact that we are the first openly gay couple to successfully adopt in the state. Until when I see great stories like this. Check us out on Facebook. God Is Good All The Time...And All The Time God Is GOOD....Blessing to all who have considered adoption is not easy but it's worth every moment...Carl Dennis and David Bailey

(Yes were are actually married, we got the license to prove it. Married in Washington, DC, June 11, 2013 while there finalizing our daughters adoption. Popped the question in court and he said yes...I had it pre-arraigned) A great surprise...

Gents! What a wonderful story and bless you both from sunny South Africa! My wife and I have three beautiful daughters and commend your stand against prejudice to make a wonderful life for your kids! Bless you both....

WOOF! they're both gorgeous and those beautiful girls, above anything; look sooooooooooo happy!  pure love!

Wonderful family!!!

Beautiful loving family. Pix are ova.

This is outstanding to see but sad to see AGAIN the black community tearing down their own!  SMH!  As a black man, I was absolutely disgusted by some of the things that I read but sadly I was not shocked in any regard.  Either way, these men have set a standard a positivity for their beautiful family.  Nothing wrong with that!  I am proud of and for them!

Proud of u all

What a beautiful family!!!  :)

Families come in all shapes and sizes. The kids are lucky that they have parents whether gay, straight, bi or trans that love them. They all look happy. Who cares what the rest thinks? I wish them all the best and love in the world.

Love love love.... Very cute Dads...

The world would be a much better place with sorties like this

I love them!  They do this every year, and every year someone has something salty to say.  They just ignore the low I.Q.'s and are thankful for the people who leave kind words.

AMEN these kids look like they have a very loving set of fathers. and that what matters and the way the ids look and they look happy so wtg guys keep up the good work

I think they are a beautiful couple. The love a couple share in private be they straight or gay or big or interracial should never have anything to do with the love they make as a family. What does it matter so long as there is love and joy in a time that love and joy are preshious comotites? #God is Love # Love is Love.
