Benham Brothers: We Don’t Want To Live In 'Bizarro World' Where We Can’t Discriminate Against Gays

Unafraid of sounding like imbeciles, the Benham Brothers have returned to continue with their homophobic message of hate.

Last Friday, the twins rallied alongside other antigay activists in North Carolina to call on Gov. Pat McCrory to nullify a nondiscrimination ordinance that was recently passed by the Charlotte City Council.

Calling the ordinance a direct attack on Christianity, David Benham says:

"We sure hope the governor and General Assembly will do what is right.”

Going on to say that it is a “bizarro world” where Christians can’t legally discriminate against LGBTQ people.

The ordinance is set to go into effect April 1 unless Gov. McCrory steps in.

Calling it an urgent matter, the Benham brothers and their fellow protestors would like the Governor and special assemble to call a special session to nullify the ordinance. That session would cost taxpayers an estimated $42,000 a day, and could result in the repeal of all local nondiscrimination ordinances across the state of North Carolina.

Benham adds:

“Mark our words, if this goes through, my company and others will be targeted!”

Gov. McCrory has called for action against the ordinance, though he has stated that he does not want to hold a special session to review the matter.

Today we did a press conference calling our Governor and General Assembly to hold a special session to defeat the bathroom bill in CLT! David was asked a question about what would happen if they refused and let the ordinance stand. Listen to his response:

When one loses one's "privilege": equality can feel like discrimination.

I just can't understand why anyone would want to actively/consciously discriminate against any person, group, religion or lifestyle choice, other than out of fear.  Discrimination will not help the far right Christian nutjobs continue to shove their agenda down the throats of anyone, in fact the opposite will result.  The more the far right wants to discriminate in the name of God, the more people will realize that they do not represent God with their perverted interpretation of God's word and will.

Religious scholars (and I mean true religious scholars not those that bastardize religion as does the far right) all agree that God sees all man as the same and accepts all regardless of frailties and "God alone shapes their hearts; He considers all their works."  I am a Christian who believes he has room in his heart for all and that those who discriminate and take God's will into their own hands and judge others are the worse sinners of all!~
