Black Gay Parents Kordale & Kaleb Respond To Twitter Outcry

On Thursday we introduced you to Kordale and Kaleb, the gay couple that sparked an outcry on Twitter basically for being awesome and committed black gay parents. (We'll also include "hot," but that's seemingly inconsequential.)

Well the superstar parents have released their own response, via HuffPo and, surprise, it's awesome:

As far as the positive; yes we are two gay men with three kids who have no problem with preparing them for their education every morning; that comes with anything and everything they may need for school! Our kids are blessed to have three parents (Kordale, Kaleb and their Mother) who love, care and support them in every decision they have made and will continue to make as they get older. We are blessed to have the ability to provide for them in ways that a lot of people cannot for their family, which ultimately makes us happy knowing that they don't want for much! Our main objective as parents is to provide, love, educate, support, encourage, and love some more!

In regard to the negative, people fail to realize that we are people too with kids who love us. We do what is necessary for them to succeed in this ever-changing world but it's sad that we're discriminated against because of our sexuality and/or what we do behind closed doors -- which is no one's business. In the same breath, we take all of what's been said in stride. The picture was put out on social media for an opinion so we can't be mad when people give just that: an opinion. People tend to think that gay people cannot raise their children to be heterosexuals. Instead, they have derogatory thoughts of us "tainting" our children or "confusing them" with what society sees deems as wrong an unmanly because we're gay. But this is all comical because people forget where a lot of gays come from: a heterosexual household.

This is another prime example of where we are as a nation in 2014 -- continuous discrimination against gays. Being gay is the new normal for a lot of people and judgement isn't needed, just equality! We may be gay but this does not mean we are incapable of what a heterosexual couple is capable of! Us gays are just as educated and passionate about what we do and how we do it!

Enough said.

So let me say this. Yes it is wonderful that these men are committed and presumably loving parents but what people miss in this world is the balance that male/female have. We forget I mean ignore the fact that men and women were designed by GOD yes GOD in a complementary way (if we were not designed by GOD then how did we get here). Their make-up is such that one complements the other. They both bring something special to a relationship (marriage). They're wired differently for a reason; they have different roles to play in their relationship and in the lives of their children. I think children need the balance of both parents to be whole. It is a model for what they are to become. When they don't have that balance it confuses them--- and identity issues arise. I have seen this with countless families whether same sex or single parenting. This isn't about freedom, it's about design with a purpose. All of nature (everything living and breathing on this earth) was designed with a purpose (go ahead and investigate--- before uttering an ignorant response). ONLY humans attempt to defy the laws of intelligent, yet so very ignorant. I am not condemning these men, that is not my position, my right nor my role. I just want us not to forget that we were created with a purpose. Same sex marriages and parenting defy the purpose as it was designed by GOD. Best of luck to the men and their children.

If you read the article thoroughly, you would have seen that they said, "Our kids are blessed to have three parents (Kordale, Kaleb and their Mother) who love, care and support them in every decision they have made and will continue to make as they get older."...

Simply beautiful!!!!!!

All you men need is love and commitment, and you have that. You seem like a wonderful family,Keep inspiring folks to be who they are, and to love unconditionally.

It's a shame that people still think like that.

It's 2014, you'd think the world would have a better understanding. Thank you very much guys.

I never thought anything of it. I can tell you this much, your family looks much happier than mine ever did.

as a gay man your family is an inspiration something for myself to look forward too.

So we're all going to sit here and pretend that they didn't use their children* as a tool to promote their ideology.

before y'all start with that phony outrage, how many of your parents brag like this* about being good parents? Right. I'll wait..

I see it ALL THE FRIGGIN TIME. On Facebook, on Twitter, in blog posts, the numerous times my coworkers whip out pictures of their family and accomplishments, or in the news and especially in right wing conservative commercials abdicating "this is the only true picture" of an American family. So who is exploiting children and promoting their ideology?

So what? Someone posting a picture of rescuing a dog is using that dog for their own personal agenda? Puhleeese!

We all should be blessed to have such loving, intelligent and caring fathers.

love is love always......and your family is so beautiful.....................100%.......don't worry about any negative comments.....most people are just in a bad mood that day because someone yelled at them that day and they need to take it out on someone else.......half of what they say thats negative.......guess what? they probably don't even really feel that way deep down.....its true......think about it! i always try to remember that when people say negative things i realize that many times they're just cranky.......we all get cranky too!........the important thing is that you love your family with all your heart at the end of the day.......thats what really matters in this silly is all that matters! god bless always you beautiful family you!
