Chelsea made international headlines when the former Army private was convicted of passing sensitive documents to WikiLeaks.  Now, she plans on running for a senate position in the state of Maryland.

According to the article, she is seeking the Democratic nomination to become a senator in Maryland.  She would challenge incumbent and current Democrat Sen. Ben Cardin, who is currently serving his second term.

Chelsea has declined to speak about her reasons for running, only saying "Our only statement on the record is ‘No statement'".

Chelsea, 30, who was formerly known as Bradley Manning, was convicted in 2013 of the largest leak of classified documents in U.S. history and was sentenced to 35 years in prison. Last year, as President Barack Obama commuted Chelsea's sentence to time served, and she was released from a military prison in Kansas on May 17th, 2017 after serving seven years.

Do you think it's a good idea that she runs for the senator position?

Forget the first trans woman to serve as a senator, she would be the first open-air traitor in in the government.  We've already paid for her sex change, I don't think we should pay her salary.  What a farce of a human.
