Christian Rock Star Vicky Beeching Comes Out, Faces Off Against 'Kill The Gays' Pastor Scott Lively

Christian rock star Vicky Beeching came out as a lesbian earlier this week in an interview with The Independent, sending shockwaves throughout the Christian rock community in which she's a massive star.

In her first televised interview, Beeching eloquently recounts her own struggle for self-acceptance and the reconciliation of her sexuality with her faith. Rather than turning her back on the Christian church, which in large part condemns her sexuality, Beeching is working to create change from within. Beeching says, “I feel certain God loves me just the way I am.”

You can watch her full interview here, including her face-off with Scott Lively, the bigoted homophobic pastor who played a key role in Uganda's "Kill The Gays" bill. (Her conversation with Lively begins at 7:45.)

Lively predictably begins by telling Beeching, he's "very sorry to hear that she has given in to the lie that she is a homosexual instead of continuing to try to overcome the challenge that is in her life."

Thankfully, Beeching was having none of it!

What do you think of Beeching's interview, her face-off with Lively, and her decision to come out?

The problem is i believe in God but i dont believe in the Church. I highly believe God would be appalled by the actions of the Church. From their blatant disrespect of human life and their lack of compassion for the pain of the families of those who have committed suicide. They have picketed the funerals. This guy lied and even said he has spoke before about the bill he is claiming he never backed. I highly doubt this news caster pulled that info out of thin air. No one can be an ex gay. they are either curious or questioning but not fully gay, fell in love with a single person despite sexuality or went back into the closet. They want us to listen to what they say. Yet when someone talks in defense of homosexuality it falls on deaf ears. They can care less to listen to anything outside of what they believe.

I thank Vicky for this. I hope she continues to educate people on this important issue.

For "what's his name" to compare homosexuality to alcoholism and drug addiction that can be overcome shows how little comprehension he has about being gay. He's wrong-she's right.

ugh. He's such a closet case. I give him a year before he is caught in a park with a male hustler.

She's awesome. He's a monster. Go Vicky!!!!
