Italian designer Stefano Gabbana is thrilled to see that First Lady Melania Trump chose to wear Dolce & Gabbana for her first official White House portrait.

Whilte many Trump supporters were thrilled with Gabbana's post, not everyone was so happy to see that the openly gay designer was apparently proud to have helped dress the First Lady.

Writes one critic:

"Your clothes are not fit for homeless people. The fact that you put this disgrace of a first lady on your instagram page also means you have no class."

Another writes:

"You are a disgrace to your own people."

Responding in the comments thread, Gabbana tells one critic to 'vai a cagare,' which loosely translates to ‘Go to hell’ or ‘fuck off.’

But this isn't the first time Dolce & Gabbana has faced public criticism.

Back in 2015, Madonna and Elton John criticized the designers for saying, “The only family is the traditional one,” and calling the children of gay people "synthetic."

Earlier this year, Gabbana was quoted as saying:

“Don’t call me gay please!! Im a man!!! Who I love its my private life!!![sic]”
