Duck Dynasty Star Willie Robertson Agrees With Dad Phil That Gays Are Going To Hell
In the face of Duck Dynasty's plummeting ratings (which many attribute to Phil Robertson's anti-gay, racist GQ interview), Willie Robertson has reiterated his dad's decision to damn gays to hell.
CNN's Kyra Phillips goes over the Corinthians Bible verse paraphrased by Phil in 2013 before asking Willie what he thinks.
"I believe what the Bible says," Willie says. "And so that’s what he says to put those in. You have to read the Bible and make up your own mind. God will ultimately decide that. We don't profess to be God and we certainly don't profess to be perfect because we have our own sins to deal with."
When asked by Kyra if Willie literally interprets the Bible, he answers "that's right."
Funny thing about interpreting the Bible literally: consistence is key.
Unfortunately, the Bible also literally says that mixing fabrics of two kinds is a sin. From Leviticus 19:19: "You are to keep My statutes. You shall not breed together two kinds of your cattle; you shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed, nor wear a garment upon you of two kinds of material mixed together."
What can easily be found in the Duck Commander online story (the company of which Willie is CEO)? Apparel made of two kinds of material mixed together.
Guess claiming the Robertson family interprets the Bible literally is a stretch (judging by how they're willing to break its rules to make money), so they're probably just a bunch of homophobes, plain and simple.
