Eric Stonestreet Explains Why He Turned Down Posing For A Picture With Rick Santorum

Modern Family's Eric Stonestreet shunned a photo-op with then-presidential-candidate Rick Santorum  at a candidates dinner back in 2012. He relived the delicious story in a recent interview with HuffPo Live that makes us adore him even more!

"Rick Santorum wanted a picture with me. It was at a time when he was publicly saying, 'Gay marriage, gay marriage [is wrong],' and I'm like, 'You know, I can't do it,'" Stonestreet said. "It was with him and his kids or something like that, and I said, 'I'd be happy to take a picture with the kids, but I can't just be in a picture with [Santorum.]'"

Wow, as a Gay man I grow up with no role models especially successful Gay couples. So Cam and Mitch ARE important in the evolution of GLBT characters on TV and in movies. They are normalizing our families to the wider society and I do believe they have been a part of the reason why most Americans now support Marriage Equality compare to a decade ago!
