Former NFL Coach Says He Would NOT Have Drafted Michael Sam

Tony Dungy, a former NFL coach who included a post-prison Michael Vick on one of his teams, would not have drafted Michael Sam.

"I wouldn’t have taken him," Dungy said in an interview published Sunday by the Tampa Bay Tribune. "Not because I don’t believe Michael Sam should have a chance to play, but I wouldn’t want to deal with all of it."

"It’s not going to be totally smooth," he added, "things will happen."

In a further show of irony, Dungy wrote the foreword in a book on discrimination in the NFL, according to CBS sports! No excuses except blatant homophobia, then?

Luckily, Michael Sam could get a F what the former coach thinks; he signed a multi-million dollar contract with the St. Louis Rams in May.
