Gay Toronto Mayoral Candidate's Missing Husband Has Been Found
Toronto police have found the Christopher Peloso (pictured), the previously missing husband of Toronto mayoral candidate George Smitherman.
Smitherman had posted the following statement on Facebook yesterday announcing his husband was missing:
I regret to confirm that Christopher Peloso has been missing from our home for almost 24 hours.
Michael, Kayla and myself, with the support of family and friends, are hopeful that our husband and father will be home safely soon.
According to Canada's The Star:
Police say they have found Christopher Peloso after they tracked his cellphone signal to an area on Davenport Rd., near Bathurst St.
He was found conscious and breathing around 11:30 a.m. in the area of Dupont St. and Lansdowne Ave.
Peloso, who is the husband of former mayoral candidate and MPP George Smitherman, disappeared from their house in the area around 4 p.m. Monday.
“His cellphone pinged an area between three cell towers, giving us a tight area to search,” said Const. Viktor Kwong.
Police said this was uncharacteristic behaviour from Peloso.
Shortly after noon, Smitherman said via Twitter: “Thanks to TorontoPolice, Christopher is alive and safely in the hands of Toronto Western Hospital. Love and thank you to all. George, Michael and Kayla.”
We're glad this story had a happy ending!
