Grey's Anatomy Hottie Alex Landi Discusses The Importance Of His Character
Grey’s Anatomy has never been one to shy away when it comes to casting recurring and guest characters who identify as LGBTQ.
The show, which is about to go into its 14th year on the air, has added another one to its roster in the form of the very handsome Alex Landi. He joined the long-running program this season as Dr. Nico Kim, an openly gay surgeon who is currently making hearts melt for many who watch.
Alex, who has quite the yummy Instagram page (check that out here), spoke with Travis Mills at Beats 1 radio about his character and its impact that it has had not only on the LGBTQ community but the Asian community as well:
On the importance of his role he says: “I’m just glad that I can give everyone a voice… Asians are represented I think by less than 3% in entertainment, LGBTQ being less than 1% so for them to combine both of those categories into one role is super special and I’m so happy that I can take that on."
On the most challenging thing about playing his character: “I just hope I do it right. I just hope the way I do it is accepted by everyone… I want to take these two categories and make everyone look strong. I want to get rid of that stereotype and give them a different look on the LGBTQ community. I just hope I’m making everyone proud.”
The new season of Grey’s Anatomy will resume sometime in 2019.
