Have You Been Catfished? One Man Explains Why He Does It.

Have you been catfished? Urban dictionary defines the term -

catfished -Being deceived over facebook as the deceiver professed their romantic feelings to his/her victim, but isn't who they say they are.
Having a fake facebook profile, images and avatar in order to lure people to have romantic feelings. They are then catfished when the victim realises the person they have falled for via facebook is not who they APPEAR to be.

I know I've been catfished and as recent as last week.  I've also been warned, still being somewhat new to the scene in this town that there are some that catfish to get info and pics of you just so they feel they know everyone and everything about them.  I've also been warned that one of these fishers may be a friend of mine. How uncomforting is that.

The fact that catfishing exists means that we are never sure if the other person is real.  It makes us untrustworthy, hold back, and not really have a lot of hope until a personal meeting takes place.

In one of his newest videos called "Gay Catfish Revealed..." , Davey Wavey shares a catfisher's story. Davey's commented:

I wanted to be angry at this guy - and guys like him - for being deceptive and doing what they do online. Instead, I found myself angry at the role that I've played - that we've all played - in making people like this man feel invisible.

Let's see how you feel after watching.

Your thoughts?

Do you think his behavior can be excused because of how other people dealt with him through online apps?

Do you feel we created a negative superficial dating zone so we have to take the catfishing along with it?

Is there an excuse for catfishing?

Have you catfished before?
