Heart Or Hate It: Men Are Dyeing Their Beards Vibrant Colors In 2015

If you thought we reached peak beard in 2014, you were wrong.

As facial hair fans continue to proliferate, bearded dudes feel the need to up their game. In 2015, this will mean dyed beards, a nascent but explosive trend that's catching on in and adjacent to hipster enclaves.

What do you think of the new trend, Instincters? Heart or hate this look on a man?

Interesting post!

I like grooming beards and long with it I liked the different syles and colors in these pictures. I use effective products to maintain my beards. I like shopping my beards products from this site. Beard-Growth

Jeez. Ever been to Burning Man? The hottest guys with beards all seem to have them dyed pink or red or blue - and it is amazing. I did teal for a week but the maintenance (and chemical exposure) was too much since I am a brownbeard. Beards grow fast! Overall, it was super fun and, even though I didn't expect it, I got nothing but compliments all around Denver. Heres the rub — some of us just get f**king bored with the b.s. bland fashion options shoved down our throats by heteronormative consumer outlets and corporate zombies. I don't see this as any kind of a trend, but more of a counter trend to battle the conformist sheep who would be happy to paint the world beige with their mediocrity. Why not decorate our handsome hirsute men so that we can spot them more easily? Why can't facial hair be an accessory like a tie or a scarf?  It baffles me that on a site designed for gay men, there is such intolerance for diversity and self-expression. Evolve people.

You dropped your latte, scarf, oversized black glasses and beard trimmer...... you're a hipster and it's lame as all fuck. Nobody cares about your bullshit hipster opinion on whether or not it's a trend.... cuz it is a trend. Dumbass!

I love it if it's done well.  I knew a crazy man once , old neighbor, far from a d-bag and all this trilogy everyone speaks of.  He was a crazy as hell nut ball who listened to death metal during the day and at night sang karaoke to wonders like Earth Wind and Fire, Cher and Nirvana at the top of his lungs for all the land to hear.  Slightly creepy and not one to mess with but he had the best kept fire engine red beard that he colored weekly on Saturdays.  Even mowed the lawn while the color was processing.  As a hair stylist, I say go for it!  Be the death metal crazy dude you want to be!

Douchebaggery of the highest order.  I know many people with small personalities will object to this and there will be the rare few that actually have personality and this look works for but let's be honest... Most of the dudes sporting a dyed beard are total trendy douche bags with little to no personality.

... End of Line.

Might be coming from readers of the Game of Thrones books. Several characters from Essos in the later books, including Daario, have brightly colored facial hair.

I have never seen colored beards Penny. So I'm not sure what planet u are from. I used to be a stylist and still around the styling community. Where r u from that this is the norm?

I did this in 2000 when I lived in San Diego, California. Its totally acceptable.

Louisville, Chicago, Milwaukee, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Nashville these are just a few places I've seen colored beats long before this article.

well as far as i know the smirfs are still all blue and they are done with JRRT's trilogies for now so not much call for colored beards unless you are a color stylist.

This isnt anything new. I have friends who have been dyeing their beards bright colours for decades. I guess the writer of this story lives in a very closed world without much freedom or diversity.

I bet these photos were hand picked over some time to try to depict a "trend". Anyone who tries "dyeing" their beard in these bright colours will first have to ruin the beard by bleaching it white, so think again if you want to be able to wash the colour out down the track.

As a Barber may I say any beard creativity is great but the patience of discovering your longer beard is the entire point of beards in my opinion. Give it 3 months and see what you can achieve, then go for 6 months, then a year. We call that a Yeard. :)

Been growing mine for about 15 months now, for most of this time it's been blue!  At my age my natural colour is light grey to white so I don't really have the problem of needing to bleach it first.

Naturally, the photos all depict really gorgeous men that would be hot regardless of whatever affectation they might adopt.  For the "common" beardie, such as myself, less extravagant efforts are more appropriate.  BUT, the fact that beards are still on-track for 2015 - despite mumblings of their demise and replacement by the Urban Nomad clean-shaven look - makes me very happy, indeed.  In other words, I'll take a coloured beard over none at all any day!

TO each their own.  Green beard and teal beard guys are kinda hot.  LOL. I have to say though, it sort of reminds me of the people in "The Capital" of The Hunger Games movies.

I love beards, but this looks ridiculous. I'm a hairstylist at an high-end salon and I've never once got a request for this. I'm certain that this will not catch on, at least not with men that actually care about how they look. Most the men in these pictures don't even look like they know how to care for their beards... 3/4 of them have neck beards...gross.

...but it is trendy and doesn't look bad. Well, that depends on whether or not the bearded one has any sense of style to be able to pull it off.

This is not a 'new' trend. Dying beards has been around since the invention of dying hair.
