Hillary Clinton's Statement On Orlando Mass Shooting

Hillary Clinton has issued a statement in the wake of the unthinkable mass-shooting at an Orlando gay club that has shaken the world.

I join Americans in praying for the victims of the attack in Orlando, their families and the first responders who did everything they could to save lives.

This was an act of terror. Law enforcement and intelligence agencies are hard at work, and we will learn more in the hours and days ahead. For now, we can say for certain that we need to redouble our efforts to defend our country from threats at home and abroad. That means defeating international terror groups, working with allies and partners to go after them wherever they are, countering their attempts to recruit people here and everywhere, and hardening our defenses at home. It also means refusing to be intimidated and staying true to our values.

This was also an act of hate. The gunman attacked an LGBT nightclub during Pride Month. To the LGBT community: please know that you have millions of allies across our country. I am one of them. We will keep fighting for your right to live freely, openly and without fear. Hate has absolutely no place in America.

Finally, we need to keep guns like the ones used last night out of the hands of terrorists or other violent criminals. This is the deadliest mass shooting in the history of the United States and it reminds us once more that weapons of war have no place on our streets.

This is a time to stand together and resolve to do everything we can to defend our communities and country.

A gay blog regurgitating the left's talking points.

This was not a mass shooting, it was an islamic jihadist attack on gays.

What a completely myopic, hypocritical, and self-serving load of tripe from the empress of destruction herself!  Hillary, who's supported every war waged by the United States (to say nothing of all the coups, assassinations, military interventions, and subversions of popular governments) in the past 30 years against the people and environment on earth, and has backed the absolute desecration of democracy through corporate-militarism and its stranglehold on OUR government, should be in prison for her war crimes.  She's a deliberately mean-spirited and very dangerous politician who only represents the interests of corporations and the greatest terrorist threat on earth - the government of the United States.  A nation that lives by killing and destruction gets what it deserves, even as the innocent are slaughtered - in Orlando, in Gaza, in Kosovo, in Kiev, in Caracas, in Tripoli, in Tegucigalpa, in Fallujah -- and as plotted in the banks, corporate boardrooms, the Pentagon, and the halls of the murderous, lawless government that wreaks havoc where it pleases.  Hillary's a psychopathic liar and traitor and those who support her are imbeciles.

Thank you, Hillary, for a genuinely caring and in depth reply to this horrible tragedy.  The hatred which is sweeping our country is heart breaking, we should be trying to comfort and support the families of these young men.  Christ told us to "love our neighbor" as ourselves and everyone is a neighbor. He did not tell us to hate anyone but to spread His message of love for ALL, that anyone who accepts Him will be with Him in Heaven.  Those who corrupt His message, who use tragedies to put out a message of more hate in His name are wrong.  My heart goes out to these men and their families and they will be in my prayers. God bless them with comfort in this time of heartbreaking loss.

Eh her speech seems emotionless. I was rooting for Hilary, once, just so I could see the first female president in my lifetime, however... to be selfless and care more about the country, I now want to see Sanders as president. He has always been an LGBT Ally, when it was unpopular to be one, and Hilary is only an Ally now that it is popular.

Hey Anonymous...  This is not about an election and who you now chose to vote for.  You are the emotionless one!  You are taking from these people and their painful time to mourn over this tragedy by expressing your feelings on who you are going to vote for!  Are you a lunatic?  How are you Selfless?  YOU ARE SELFISH!  You should take the time and type out a real nice apology for shaming yourself by posting your crap that has nothing to do with the topic of the discussion is.  Again, Shame on you for being so emotionless and selfish!

By the way, Hillary's statement was very well thought out and as a member of the LGBT community, I felt that it was personal enough to me from here when she addressed the community and stressed that millions support us and she is one of them.  Go get on your meds cause you have ISSUES!

Stupid fuck. Evil? Hatred is evil. Everything on this earth is as it should be. Stupidity included. It's none of your fucking business what anyone else does. Live your own good life, for you will be judged by how you judge others. That is the only sensible judgment. Right?

Judge not, lest ye be judged!! That is one thing you and people like you conveniently forget. Whatever self-righteous condemnation you put out there, you will share in. So if gay people are going to your 'fire &.brimstone' hell, you'll be sitting right there next to them. A--hole

It was NOT an act of terror. It was an  act of a man with mental illness who never got any help. His ex-wife explained that he had mental health issues with her, but an "expert" on CNN called it terrorism only because he doesn't understand that not all people with mental illness are sitting around drooling in hospitals. Throwing Islam into the mix does NOT mean he was a terrorist; he was an angry, prejudiced, mentally ill man.

Terrorism is terrorism, just because he was not officially commissioned by notorious islamic terrorists or because it is not clear whether or not his acts were religious does not change that this was an act of terror. If he walked into a coffee shop and shot everyone because he was angry that people were paying $5 for a cup of coffee that is still an act of terror.

But he didn't walk into a coffee shop. He walked into a gay club. 'Nuff said.

I don't disagree with you regarding mental illness and the lack of access to services. And, Islam IS a piece of this tragedy ... it formed this mans moral and ethical  compass. And IT IS a TERRORIST ACT. A group of people were terrorized and experienced terror as a result of his actions ergo TERRORIST act. Isis may or may not be involved. His Islamic beliefs played a role but aren't necessarily the catalyst for his actions.  His mental health played a part and also may or may not be the driving factor. Possibly internalized homophobia and/or questioning his own sexual identity. We will never know. But an act of terror it most certainly.

Actually, Wounded Knee was the deadliest mass shooting. But who needs truth when your name is synonymous with lying? #hillary4prison
