'How I Met Your Mother' Spin-Off Casts One Of Its Gay Leads

CBS's How I Met Your Mother spin-off How I Met Your Dad has cast one of its two gay leading characters!

Drew Tarver, a performer at Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) in Los Angeles and a participant this year in the CBS Diversity Showcase as an LGBT performer (according to Deadline), has been tapped to play one of the gay leads!

Deadline reports:

In the vein of the original series, HIMYD tells the story from a female point of view, that of Sally (Greta Gerwig), and revolves around a new group of friends in New York. Tarver will play Todd, Sally’s best friend and roommate from college who is now married to her brother.

Tarver, repped by Paradigm and Industry Entertainment, has trained at UCB, the Groundlings, Westside Comedy Theatre and Acme Theater in New York.

Having seen Tarver perform at UCB, we can safely say this is a score for How I Met Your Dad

Congrats, Drew!
