Indonesia’s High Court Considers Petition To Criminalize Gay Sex

Folks, we've found the "Land of The Lost."  As nations try to move forward with positive legislation in regard to LGBT citizens or keep laws status quo, Indonesia looks to go backwards.

JAKARTA, INDONESIA—Indonesia’s constitutional court is considering whether to criminalize gay sex after accepting a judicial review petition from Islamic activists.

A group calling itself the Family Love Alliance says an existing law that criminalizes sex between adults and minors of the same gender should be amended to also apply to sexual acts between adults of the same gender.

Rita Hendrawaty, chairwoman of the group, said Wednesday it was not trying to criminalize lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.

Experts presented by the group at a hearing on Tuesday testified that homosexuality was inherently immoral and went against Indonesia’s state ideology.

Indonesia’s image for tolerance and moderation has been tested this year by a campaign of denigration against LGBT people.

So Rita is not trying to criminalize LGBT people, but just if they have sex?  Sounds like the Catholic church when they said you can love your gay child, but just not what he or she does or stands for.

We're still waiting for these religious nations to ban divorce, but it's easier to point the finger at others, degrade others for their believed transgressions before you correct your own behavior.

Is there anything the United States could do?  Is there anything the United Nations should do?  Or would any action from US or UN seem as an intrusion of western ideals.  Indonesia is a nation of Islam.  Out of 206.6 million citizens, 95% of them are Muslim, 196.2 million people, or 12.7% of the world's Muslims.

We wish the best for Indonesian LGBTers.  We also wish that Indonesia would take this time to show that Muslim nations are not all discriminatory and can change with the times.

Religion should be banned. Religion doesn't abide by the truth; it only spread unfounded premises that are not backed up by nature and science.

All those people want to do is to give  a legal pass to their perverted thoughts of oppression of and even the killing of LGBT people.

All Abrahamic religions are a disease of the mind.
