International Olympic Committee Says Gay Athletes Welcome At 2014 Winter Games, Despite Anti-Gay Russian Bill

Russia's State Duma may have just overwhelmingly passed one of the most anti-gay "gag" laws in the world, but the International Olympic Committee isn't letting that rain on its Winter Olympics Pride Parade.

"The IOC would like to reiterate our long commitment to non-discrimination against those taking part in the Olympic Games," a spokesman for the organization told Gay Star News. "The IOC is an open organization and athletes of all orientations will be welcome at the Games."

The law, which punishes the promotion or discussion of any sexuality other than man/woman, is expected to pass the Russian Senate by the end of the month to become official law of the land.
