James Franco Set To Play Ex-Gay In New Gus Van Sant Film
According to The New York Post's Page Six:
James Franco, currently starring in Broadway’s “Of Mice and Men,” is set to star in an upcoming movie about Michael Glatze, a gay activist who renounced his homosexuality after turning to religion following a health scare.
The $3.5 million film is being produced by Gus Van Sant and is set to start shooting in New York in July.
Glatze previously worked at the now-defunct gay magazine XY and also founded Young Gay America, a publication geared towards gay youth.
This was before he started having panic attacks and renounced his homosexuality, converted to Mormonism, then converted to fundamentalist Christianity and married a woman in October 2013. (Get your life, Michael!)
What do you think of this casting news, Instincters? We've been warned that it may be an April Fool's Joke, but we could totally see Franco playing this kind of character. Thoughts?
