Joe Manganiello Talks About And Premieres Male Stripper Doc, “La Bare”

Looks like we weren't the only ones mesmerized by True Blood star Joe Manganiello's role as Big Dick Richie in the Steven Soderbergh film, Magic Mike. Since playing the role of a firefigher-suit-wearing exotic dancer and a foray into the world of male stripping, the actor went on to co-produce alongside his brother a documentary, called La Bare, about the world's most popular and infamous male strip club.

Joe shared with EW.com his inspiration behind La Bare, which recently debuted at Slamdance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

I had zero interest in male stripping prior to Magic Mike. As a straight male, I had a lot of misperceptions about the industry. People would walk out of Magic Mike saying  ’I loved it but I wish there was more of the guys. I wish I knew more about them, where they live, who they go out with, what their lives are like.’ So I knew there was a lot left on the table.
