Joseph Gordon-Levitt Producing Film Adaptation Of LGBT-Inclusive Comic Book Series
Joseph Gordon-Levitt has signed on to produce the acclaimed LGBT inclusive comic book series, Sandman.
He tweeted: "Ladies and gentlemen, I'm incredibly honored to be working with David Goyer, Warner Bros, and @neilhimself on SANDMAN."
As described by Gay Star News:
Sandman, which ran for 75 issues from January 1989 until March 1996, has been applauded for having many LGBT characters.
The graphic novels are well known for having several openly gay characters such as Cluracan, Hazel, Foxglove and Desire.
Gaiman also introduced the first trans civilian character ever, Wanda, in the acclaimed comic book series.
As for whether he'll be starring in the film adaptation, Joseph tweeted: "Just to clarify, folks. I've signed on as a producer on Sandman. The rest remains to be seen. Delighted you guys are excited. I am too!"
