Lesbian Police Agent Who Stopped Congressional Baseball Shooting Throws Ceremonial Pitch

Capitol Police Agent Crystal Griner threw the ceremonial first pitch on Wednesday at the Women’s Congressional Softball Game in Washington, D.C.

Griner, who is married to a woman, took a bullet protecting Republican House Majority Whip Steven Scalise during the mass shooting at the Men’s Congressional Baseball Match last week.

She and Special Agent David Bailey are credited with preventing a massacre. Griner is currently in a wheelchair and will need additional surgeries to repair the damage to her ankle and leg.
