MSNBC Interviews Derrick Gordon, First Gay NCAA Basketball Player

On Wednesday we brought you news that the NCAA finally has its first openly-gay basketball player in Derrick Gordon, a sophomore starter for UMass. Not long after coming out, Derrick joined MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell for a live TV interview.

On his decision to come out, Gordon tells Mitchell that "I just felt that I couldn't go the next couple months just hiding and being somebody I'm not...Having people out there saying gays aren't allowed in sports...I think nobody in this world should have to live like that."

Keep making us proud, Derrick!
